Preparation plan and resources for Azure AZ-203 Certification Exam for developers


Microsoft Certifications are one of the way to make added values to your resume,moreover it will give you more visibility in the technical community and knowledge for sure.Cloud technologies are the one of the huge successful product from the Microsoft.
Azure certification exams are revised and renewed on last Mar 2019.
Azure developer associate exam and azure solution architect are the two exams which is relevant for the Developers.
Before those two exams known by : 70-532 ,and 70-533.
But now, Azure is bringing new features and developing very fast ,they also changed exams it into
AZ-203 -Azure developer
AZ-300 -Azure solution architect.

Here I thought of shearing the resources that I am used to prepare for the exam AZ-203.

Who should take this exam ?
  • If you are a developer in Microsoft technologies.
  • If you want to become DevOps in Azure,or planning to take AZ-400 DevOps expert certification.
  • If you want to take AZ-300 Azure architect.
  • If you are in any development stream want to design and develop solutions using azure,then you can go for it.
Prerequisites ?

Unless the other Ms Exams, Azure - 203 doesn't have any mandatory exam to pass to get certified as azure developer.But you can optionally go for the AZ-900  exam as to get to know the azure products and detail in basic level.Again its not mandatory and if you pass AZ-900 will not give you any added advantage for AZ-203.

Syllabus ?
Microsoft Azure is really vast.A lot of area to cover in azure if you need to pass Solution architect level.But for developers, there are mainly the components which is used for the development perspective.
In high level its categorized into:

1) Develop Azure Infrastructure as a Service compute solutions (10-15%)
2) Develop Azure Platform as a Service compute solutions (20-25%)
3) Develop for Azure storage (15-20%)
4) Implement Azure security (10-15%)
5) Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize solutions (10-15%)
6) Connect to and consume Azure and third-party services (20-25%)

Note: The percentage next to each is the approximate break out of how much of the exam focus on each objective area.As you can see it's pretty evenly distributed across the 6 areas.

Microsoft virtual academy is providing free azure learning video tutorials on different azure topics.This may not be in the order of the AZ-204 syllabus.But you can choose the relevant topics from their List.

 Plural sight Az-203 will have the series of videos on azure, which is may not be in the order of syllabus,but good to know in deep.Linkedin--Learning AZ-203 series.
Udemy - Az-203 certification,Which is covering syllabus in order.But need to looked in to deep concepts which may not be explained in the tutorial.
